Linda Mae McKee's Obituary
Linda Mae McKee, 65, while surrounded by her family, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 24th.
Linda was born, September 23, 1947 to Charles Porter and Emma (Jean) Wilson. She grew up in the Maroa area and was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church in Decatur.
Linda earned her degree in childcare and became a preschool teacher all while working a full time job and raising four children. She taught at First United Methodist Daycare and the YWCA Childcare Center.
Greeting her in Heaven is sister, Paulette, stepmother, Opal Porter, father Charles Porter and mother, Emma Jean Wilson. She leaves behind her brother Charles Wilson and sister Peggy Larson (husband Jim); Children: Christina Rodriguez (husband Ben), Michelle (dog Cinder), Jerry (wife Nikki), and John (wife Vanessa); her grandchildren: Ben, Ezekiel, Chad, Alexis, Dakota, Andrew and Faith; and her great grandchildren; Lindsay and Riley.
A dinner fellowship and sharing memories with Linda's family will be held at Grace Baptist Church in Decatur, IL on Saturday, March 2nd at 11:00 am with a celebration service beginning at 12:00 pm.
The family wishes to thank Lisa Buggar, Angie Schmahl and all the nurses at DMH Hospice Care for all their help and support. They would also like to thank Dr. Kairouz and Dr. Tarter and their staff at Cancer Care Center for taking excellent care of mom.
