Lois Jean George's Obituary
Decatur – Lois Jean George, 83, of Decatur, passed away at 3:07 pm Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Decatur Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Memorial services to celebrate Lois’ life will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 4, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Tyler Penn officiating. The “Flight Home” ceremony provided by Graceland/Fairlawn will conclude services. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Lois was born February 8, 1926 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Esther (Hanky) Heintzelman. She was employed as a dietitian aide by Decatur Memorial Hospital for several years. Lois enjoyed family gatherings, spending time with her grandchildren, and going to plays and musicals.
She leaves behind her three daughters; Nancy (Bob) Willoughby of Decatur, Karen (Ron) Pinner of Winston-Salem, NC, Robin George of Denver, CO, five grandchildren; Rob George, Aimee Bradshaw, Peter Curtis, Angie Rucker, Melissa Deaton, nine great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and daughter-in-law Barbara George of Raleigh, NC.
She was reunited in Heaven with her son Tom, one brother, and three sisters.
