Lois B. Weldy's Obituary
Lois B. Weldy, 96, of Decatur, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018, at Generations at McKinley Place.
Mrs. Weldy was born November 26, 1922, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of George Elmer and Luella (Landrum) Eckhardt. Lois was a homemaker and loving mother. In her younger years she loved to dance and roller skate at Ragsdale Roller Rink. When it came to sports, she loved baseball and was a die-hard Cubs fan, and in basketball, she was a Duke and Tennessee fan. Lois married William R. Weldy on March 2, 1946. Together for 53 wonderful years.
She leaves to forever cherish fond memories and a good laugh; daughters, Rhondalee Weldy and Judith Rodden both of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William R. Weldy; her son, Gary B. Weldy; four sisters, two brothers, and her beloved mother in law, Ella Weldy.
Special thanks to St. Mary’s Hospital, St. John’s Hospital, Generation at McKinley Place, neighbors and friends who looked out for me all these years. There will be no visitation or services.
When the day comes that there are no more tomorrows for me, one of my biggest regrets will be not being able to be there at your side should you need me should you need me.
My wish for you then will always be that your life will be long and healthy and that you follow your dreams wherever they may lead. When you look back and I am but a memory I pray that you remember that you were, are and always will be deeply loved by me. Love Mom.
