Loraine Dorothea Birmingham's Obituary
Loraine Dorothea Birmingham, 95, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 2:30 P.M. on Friday (09-29-2023) at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Loraine was born on March 9, 1928, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Stephen Arthur Ooton and Emma Marie (Blotevogel) Ooton. She married James Delore Birmingham on November 24, 1948, in Worden, IL. He preceded her in death on August 25, 2001.
Loraine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Decatur, IL. She also loved to read and do needlework.
She is survived by her children: Barbara Jean Knowles and husband Terry of Decatur, IL; Keith Allen Birmingham and wife Rhonda of Argenta, IL; Jann Marie Hammel and husband James of Pellham, AL; and Kent Scott Birmingham and wife Susan of Decatur, IL; one brother: Samuel K. Ooton and wife Patricia of Glendale, AZ; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday (10-07-2023) at Trinity Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. A Graveside Service after the funeral will be held at Graceland Cemetery.
