Lorene F. March's Obituary
Decatur – Lorene F. March, 98, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Imboden Creek Senior Living.
Lorene was born March 4, 1926, the 10th of 11 children in Ralls County (Hannibal, MO), to Charles J. and Ethel (Kespohl) Scheiner and was raised on a farm in rural Hannibal. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church and worked in several factories including: Caterpillar, Mapleton; Houdaille-Hershey Company (10 years) and retired from A.W. Cash Valve Company, Decatur, IL. Lorene married Robert L. March on July 10, 1948, in Clinton, IL.
In retirement, she loved to travel including wintering with Bob in Davenport, FL, for 18 years. She enjoyed reading and shared many books with her Florida neighbors. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities as well as watching the Cardinals baseball team, Hallmark movies, gardening, crossword puzzles and mahjong.
Lorene loved her family very much. She had two children: Larry (Marilyn) March of Villa Ridge, MO and Vickie (Roger) Jones of Decatur. She had a very loving and special relationship with her grandchildren: Megan (Tyler) Madding of Washington, IL, and Christopher Jones of Mount Vernon, WA. She adored her great-grandchildren: Hadley and Rory Madding; and Juniper and Maple Jones.
Her parents are deceased as well as her brothers: Leslie, Joseph, William, Marion, and Harold; her sisters: Edna Flick, Florence Clark, and Opal Perkins. Two sisters: Gladys and Helen Irene died from childhood diseases. Her granddaughter-in-law, Yeojin Chung died in 2024. Her husband Robert died in 2012.

Graveside services will be 11am, Saturday, November 2, 2024, in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Grace Methodist Church.
