Loreta K. McGee's Obituary
Decatur-Loreta K. 'Miss Rita' McGee, 73, of Decatur, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded and no services will be held. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Rita was born January 12, 1938 in Vandalia, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Annabelle (Nichol) Kingston. She was employed at Caterpillar retiring after twenty-eight and a half years of service. She was a member of UAW 751. She was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR.
She leaves behind her son John Pickett and wife Kathy of Decatur, daughters, Kim Fair of Heath, Ohio, Kathy Filchak of Mattoon, Bobbie Pickett of Decatur, and Maggie Pickett of Indianapolis, Indiana, brother Verlin Kingston of Mulberry Grove, sister Emma Gene Copper of Newton, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sons, and one brother.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at St. Mary's Hospital.
Rita will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
