Lorna Joyce Sembiante's Obituary
Lorna Joyce Sembiante, 67, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Lorna was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, on February 3, 1954, the daughter of Peter and Helen (Phillips) Starry. She earned a BS in Business and went on to become a teacher and librarian. She married Anthony Sembiante on June 6, 1975 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Lorna was an active member of Life Foursquare Church in Decatur. She gave many hours as a volunteer with the youth group, tutoring, and funeral dinners.
Lorna is survived by her husband Anthony; children Valecia (Johnathan) Ross, Rachel (Todd) Dettling of Decatur, and Dominic Sembiante of Decatur; sister Betty Jean Nemchik of New Alexandria, Pennsylvania; granddaughter Valerie (Justin) Ross; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Lorna will be from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, December 2 at Life Foursquare Church in Decatur. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 3 at Life Foursquare Church, with visitation one hour before the service. Interment at Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery will follow the service. Condolences may be left for the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
