Lucile (Lucy) "Luscious Lou" Derlitzki's Obituary
Lucile (Lucy) “Luscious Lou” Derlitzki, 95, of Springfield, formerly of Decatur, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 in Montvale Retirement Center.
Lucile was born October 8, 1920 in Ainsworth, Nebraska, the daughter of Ward and Cora Mae (Harris) Steele. Lucile worked for the Walbash Railroad, and later retired at Northfolk and Western Railroad. Lucille enjoyed cooking, gardening and most of all, spending time with her family. She married Loren Derlitzki, and they shared over sixty wonderful years together.
Lucile leaves behind her sons, Ward Derlitzki of Scottsdale, AZ, Paul (Jennifer) Derlitzki of Springfield; grandson, Eric Derlitzki, step granddaughters, Mia Paul, Illianna Springer, and special friends Edie Logan of Decatur, and Dan Heckel of Decatur.
Lucile was preceded in death by her parents; husband, one brother, and two sisters.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Montvale Retirement Center, and Jerry Logan for all their compassionate care for Lucile.
Services to celebrate Lucile’s life will be held at 11am, Friday, April 22, 2016 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, 2091 N. Oakland Drive, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
