Luis Gordillo's Obituary
Luis L. Gordillo, 81, of Decatur passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Luis was born on April 14, 1935 in Decatur, the son of Paulino and Elnora (Hampson) Gordillo. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and retired from Mueller Company after 44 years of work. He enjoyed spending time his family and granddaughters, helping anyone who needed a hand. He also enjoyed having breakfast at the Garden Restaurant and anything related to vintage cars. He married his soul mate, Tennie M. West on April 30, 1953 in Clinton, IL and they spent nearly 63 wonderful years together.
Surviving are his wife, Tennie; daughter, Stacy Hansen (Steve) of Taylorville; brother, Ed Gordillo (Carol) of Decatur; sisters, Margaret Redmon of Decatur; Juanita Rasgado of Decatur; Elena Krohn (Tom) of Decatur; grandchildren, Amber Hosey (Matt); Jenna Gordillo, Allison Hansen; Madison Hansen; and one great-daughter, Jada Hosey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael Gordillo, and brother, Paul Gordillo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Rick Weltin as Celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Friday in Graceland/Fairlawn. Funeral Home with a Vigil Prayer service at 4:30 PM. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
