Luther "Lou" Moore's Obituary
Decatur-Luther ‘Lou” Moore, 86, of Decatur, passed away August 9, 2015 at Imboden Creek Living Center in Decatur.
Lou was born January 11, 1929 in Cerro Gordo, Illinois, the son of Luther Moore. He was previously employed at A.E. Staley Manufacturing Company. He also owned/operated a vending machine business and was known as the “Candy Man” to all the children. Lou enjoyed woodworking. He married Gloria Manion in April of 1949. She preceded him in death January 18, 2008.
Lou leaves behind his daughter Penny Wisener (Randall), son Michael Dean Moore, sister Ruth Marie Jackson, grandchildren Tracy Verbiski (Brian), Dawn Osborne (Kelly), Michael Moore, and Tonya Moore, great-grandchildren Jamie, Kody, Mackenzie, Wyatt, and Zakary, and two step-great-grandchildren.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Imboden Creek Living Center for all of their loving care and support.
Graveside services to celebrate Lou’s life will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2015 in Section R at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Homeward Bound Pet Shelter.
