Lynda A. Taylor's Obituary
Decatur – Lynda Ann Taylor, 77, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.
Lynda was born April 5, 1946, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of John Oliver and Martha Elizabeth (Harris) Whitacre. Lynda worked and retired from Osco. She married Carter Taylor on November 26, 1966, in Decatur, IL. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, needle point and anything that could be done with yarn/thread and a needle.
Surviving is her husband, Carter of Decatur; daughters: Michelle (Rick Blacet) Foster of Decatur and Lisa Taylor-Coss of Niantic; grandchildren: Lynsey Foster, Dylan Coss, Paige Coss, and Justin Coss; great-grandchildren: Kayden Hurt and Karlee Lofland; brothers: Larry (Beatrice) Whitacre and John (Ruth) Whitacre Jr of Republic, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents John and Martha Whitacre; son-in-law Jeffrey Lynn Coss, and Andi Whitacre.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
