Madison McCoy's Obituary
DECATUR- Madison Kay McCoy, 5 of Decatur, took the loving hand of Jesus at 11:44 pm Thursday, August 13, 2009 at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous eight month battle with cancer.
A celebration of Madison’s life will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, August 18, 2009 in the Chapel of Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, conducted by Pastor Buzz Swett. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 on Monday at the funeral home. Interment with a butterfly release will be in Graceland Cemetery. Madison was born on October 17, 2003 in Decatur the daughter of Jason E. and Tinisha K. (Jones) McCoy. Madison attended Playmates Preschool, where she had many friends. She loved Hannah Montana, the Cubs, youth bowling at PlaMor Lanes, ballet, talking on the phone, butterflies and making arts and crafts.
Surviving are her parents, brother: Blake McCoy at home, maternal grandparents: Deanna Massey of Decatur and Troy Jones of Mt. Zion, paternal grandparents: Sandra McCoy and Timothy (Shalonda) McCoy both of Decatur, maternal great grandparents: Charles and Mary Crail of Decatur and Karen Jones of Mt. Zion, paternal great grandparents: Jerry and Peg Neeley and Barbara Sappington all of Decatur, aunts and uncles: Malaya Willis of Decatur, Timothy (Carrie) McCoy of Midland, TX., Ben (Jaclyn) McCoy, Mike Schoneman, Josh Gordon, David (P.J.) Gordon, Gina (James) Bradshaw, Jamie Gordon, JoEllyn McDermith and T.J. Neeley, Nicole (Monty) Warren, Stacy Crail and Joseph Crail all of Decatur, cousins: Clayton McCoy, Samuel McCoy, Taylor Neeley, Tessa Neeley, Makayla Hankins, Dominic Hankins, Briyanna McDermith, Dakota McDermith, Adam Gordon, Aaron Gordon, Dava Gordon, Autumn Gordon, Laya Gordon, Aniah Warren, Alena Warren, Quincy Warren, Tijah Green, Jennifer McCoy, Samantha McCoy, Diana McPeek, Josh Blair, Tracie Blair and numerous great aunts and great uncles.
Madison was greeted in Heaven by her uncle: Brian Gordon, baby cousin: Tristin Green, Jr., maternal great grandfather Joseph Jones, maternal great great grandparents: Iris and Glenn Crail, paternal great great grandparents: Bill and Zelda Neeley, Lynn and Helen Schwab and Virginia and Louis Mitchell.
