Marcia Anne Moore's Obituary
Marcia Anne Trowbridge, age 73, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, wrapped in the love of her family.
She was born on June 11, 1952, in Decatur, Illinois, to Robert and Delores Trowbridge. From an early age, Marcia carried a strong spirit, a generous heart, and a deep love for the people around her — especially those who needed it most. She was outgoing, playful, incredibly intelligent, highly competitive, and loved God with her whole heart.
Throughout her life, Marcia was instrumental in the endeavors of her father, dedicating her time, effort, and talents to helping grow his businesses. She later poured those same efforts into her own business, Kleen Moore. Later still, she became the driving force behind her daughter’s family farm startup, giving her all even through declining health.
She was the kind of person every entrepreneur hopes to have beside them — loyal, tireless, sharp, and willing to carry the weight when things become hard.
Outside of business, Marcia loved sports. Most notably, she played Class B softball with the champion team, Soy Ford Decaturettes. Anytime you stopped by for a visit, chances were a game was on — professional softball, baseball, women’s basketball, football, hockey — she loved it all.
Above all else, family and friends were the center of Marcia’s world. She loved deeply, protected relentlessly, and gave endlessly. Her life was not measured by titles or possessions, but by the people she poured herself into and loved with all her heart.
Over the last decade, she fervently prayed for each member of her family. She loved attending a weekly Bible study with her sisters at Decatur First Church of the Nazarene, enjoyed watching Oak Hills Church on YouTube, and most recently completed reading Scripture from beginning to end.
Marcia’s life stands as a true testament to the work God can do in a person’s heart. Despite the many hardships she endured, Marcia allowed the Spirit to work within her, setting her free so that she could finish the race faithfully.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Derek) Baldassari of Decatur; her beloved husband’s children, Cindy (Dan) Schum of Maroa, Mark Moore of Champaign, and Julie (Amanda) Moore of Mattoon; grandchildren, Austin Yutzy (Ian Krispin) of Mount Zion, Morgan (Chris) Watson of Decatur, Dominik (Karen) Baldassari of Phoenix, Vince (Gracie) Baldassari of Minneapolis, Dylan Schum, Aidan Schum, and Brendan Schum of Maroa, Blake Moore of Champaign and Samantha Stokes of Decatur; along with many beloved great-grandchildren, who became the great joy of her later years. She is also survived by her sisters, Carol (Tom) Eichel, Linda Burgess, and Sharon (Mike) Lane.
Marcia was preceded in death by her grandson, Ethan Fritz, and brother-in-law, Dave Burgess. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Skip; her parents, Robert and Delores Trowbridge; and Jennifer’s father, Johnny Poteet.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Graceland Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to gather in love and remembrance as we honor Marcia’s life.
