Marcia Lee Weber's Obituary
MOUNT ZION – Marcia L. Telfer Weber, 84, of Mt. Zion, went home to be with The Lord at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, in her home.
She was born September 15, 1940, in Lee, Indiana, daughter of the late Bernard and Helen M. Danford Telfer Ridlen. The family moved to Illinois when she was 4 years old. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1958. She married her husband Daniel S. Weber July 16, 1960 at First Baptist Church in Decatur.
Marcia was a member of Grace Baptist Church and raised her son and daughter in the church. She enjoyed teaching 4-year-old Sunday school class and sang in the church choir in her younger years. She babysat throughout the years and took care of her mother when needed. Marcia really enjoyed being with her two sisters, having lunch and shopping once a week. Over the years, she collected crystal, tea pots, bells, sun catchers, Fenton Art, Boyd’s Bears and Thomas Kinkade pictures.
She was a homemaker. She kept an immaculate home and loved decorating it with lighted accents; especially during each holiday. She and Dan also loved traveling to Branson, Missouri to see shows.
She loved children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and Dan spent a lot of time caring for them. She enjoyed attending Sarah and Danny’s sporting events and traveling to various states to see Heather perform in the Mt. Zion Swingsations competitions.
Surviving are her husband, Daniel S. Weber of Mt. Zion; daughter, Pamela S. Wharton and husband Keith of Mt. Zion, IL; son, Daniel J. Weber and wife Sandra of Bethany, IL; four grandchildren, Alex Nicole Bone, Heather Nichole Allen Jump and husband Caleb, Sarah Elizabeth Weber, Daniel Stephen Weber; two step-grandchildren, Alyssa Wolber and husband Doug, Brandon Wharton and wife Susana; three great-granddaughters, Anistyn Garner, Mia and Camille Jump; step-great-granddaughter, Calie Jump; four step-great-grandchildren, Maelyn and Griffin Wolber, Adam and Aaron Wharton; sister, Mary Scroggins; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to thank Dr. Guaglianone, Memorial Cancer Care and Memorial Hospice team for their care.
Marcia will be laid to rest in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
