Margaret Regina "Margie" Williams' Obituary
Margaret 'Margie' Regina Williams, 81, of Harristown, IL, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in her home with her family by her side.
Margie was born August 19, 1931 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Wand) Vogel. She was a devoted homemaker and self employed housekeeper. She was known by most as mom, grandma, or Margie. She was unwavering in her faith with St. Pats as her church home. She left school at an early age to help on the family farm. She worked and received her GED later. She was loved by all as the kind, simple, caring woman who treated everyone the same. She was an outstanding member of the community. She would help anyone in need. Her love of God, family, friends, laughter, plants, and gardening was known to all.
She leaves behind her sons Bruce (Tina) Williams of Latham, Alan (Kelly) Williams of Decatur, Chris Williams of Tower Hill, Stephen Williams of Cisco, daughters Patricia (Kevin) Hill of Rosemont, MN and Theresa Williams of Decatur, and fifteen loving grandchildren and eighteen loving great-grandchildren.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, son Gerard, three brothers, and one sister.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, and caregivers, especially Kimberly Robertson and the staff of Help At Home for all of their loving care.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Margie’s life will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 407 E. Eldorado, with Father John Burnette, Celebrant. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be at Harristown Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Ss James and Patrick Parrish or the American Cancer Society.
