DECATUR – Margaret (Margot) R. Maurer, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters at her home on Sunday, December 15, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Margot’s life will be held at Holy Family Church at 11 a Read Obituary
Margo and I went through Grade School, Junior High and High School together and she married one of my best friends on that journey. Margo was a beautiful woman inside and out. While after high school I didn’t live in Decatur, every time I I came home from Hawaii, then San Francisco and then Seattle to see my parents in Decatur, no visit was complete unless I stopped to see Mike and Margo and their daughters. It was always such a pleasure to visit and catch up as if no time had ever passed since we were last together.
My wife, Nancy, and I extend our condolences to daughters Michele (Shelly), Marilyn and Marta.
