Margaret Catherine Shepherd's Obituary
Margaret Catherine Shepherd, 85, passed away at 4:59 P.M. on Saturday (11-23-2024) at St. John’s Hospital Springfield, IL.
Margaret was born on September 30, 1939, in Bay, AR, the daughter of Joseph A. Stewart and Elzia Esther (Lynn) Stewart. She married Jerry Lynn Shepherd on June 27, 1981, in Decatur, IL. They were married for over 43 years.
She was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church. Margaret also liked to cook, watch westerns on tv, do crossword puzzles and put puzzles together. She loved reading her Bible every day and going to church.
Margaret is survived by her husband Jerry of Decatur, IL; children: Cheryl Darlene Michaels and husband Scott of Northport, AL; Karen Renee Hendrix and husband Richard of Kaiser, MO; Michele Ann Helm and husband Randy of Brighton, MO; and Kevin Wayne Beckman and wife Angie of Tellico Village, TN; one brother Joe Ray Stewart and wife Ruth Ann of Round Lake Beach, IL; step-children: Tina J. Gist and husband Doug of Mt. Pulaski, IL; Tammy J. Dawson and husband Brian of Castle Pines, CO; Teresa J. Glick and husband McKenzie of Aurora, CO; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Lynn Wayne Stewart and one sister Lois Jean Stewart.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday (11-30-2024) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The burial will be immediately following the service at Graceland Cemetery Decatur, IL.
