Margery Odelia Maple's Obituary
Decatur-Margery Odelia Maple, 93, of Decatur, passed away at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Fairhavens Christian Home with her family by her side.
Services to celebrate Marge's life will be 1 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2010 in the chapel of Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services. Interment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be donated to Marge's various charities. Marge was born October 12, 1916 in Brownstown, the daughter of Joseph and Birdie (Surratt) Hedrick. She graduated from Stephen Decatur High School. She was previously employed as an L.P.N. at DMH for fifteen years and Home Health Care for ten years before her retirement. She then took a computer class and began working at Lakeview Baptist Church up until she went into the nursing home. She was a fifty year member of Lakeview Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing the organ, and singing. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and family, they were her heart. She married William H. Maple August 6, 1935. They later divorced. He preceded her in death May 2, 1980.
She leaves behind her daughter; Judy Miller and husband Steve of Mt. Zion, sons; Ronald and wife Carolyn of Oakley, Joe and wife Margie of Laporte, Texas, and Les and wife Redonda of Hugo, Oklahoma, thirty-four grandchildren, seventy-five great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, sons; Billy, Charles, David, Harry, and John Sr., three brothers, and three sisters.
