Marian V. Dickinson's Obituary
Marian Dickinson, 86, of Henderson, Nevada formerly of Decatur, died Saturday, January 30, 2016 in Sunrise Hospital of Las Vegas. Marian was a loving and caring mother and touched so many endearing friends during her long and fruitful life.
Mrs. Dickinson was born April 16, 1929, the daughter of Christian P. Andersen and Genevieve D. Berg in Chicago, IL. She attended Chicago schools and Millikin University where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. She was an elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church, and was active in Junior Welfare, as well as a local realtor for Masey’s in Decatur.
In 1949, Marian married Bill Dickinson and enjoyed many years in Decatur until 2000 when moving to Nevada.
Surviving are her sons: Gary of Henderson, NV; Bill and wife Ceil of Boulder City, NV; David and wife Nancy of Omaha, NE; James Alan of Henderson, NV. Sister Geraldine Sipes of Orland Park, IL. As well as five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Preceding Marian in passing are her husband Bill and youngest son Robert.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday, February 6, 2016 in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1360 W Main St, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
