Marie E O'Field's Obituary
Marie was born on July 15, 1923, to Ellery Bert and Sara Alice Miller. Marie passed away on February 6, 2020, due to respiratory issues compounded by pneumonia.
Marie lost her husband Jack in1989. She had no children of her own but was loving and generous with her many nieces and nephews. Marie also took care of her father in his declining years. She leaves behind “adopted” granddaughter Marla Thies, niece Carol Kingery Cox, and nephews Gary Kingery, John Mize, Dale Mize, and Mike Miller.
A faithful Christian and lifelong member of The Salvation Army church, Marie volunteered her time and energy. She enjoyed church programs, trips, camps, songsters, and service projects with Women’s Ministries. Marie was passionate about working with children’s groups, playing bingo, watching the Cubs, and of course, listening to Elvis!
We will miss Marie, but in the end, all we can say is that we loved her, and we commend her to Jesus.
Memorial Service will be at the Decatur Salvation Army, 229 W. Main, Decatur, Illinois. The service will begin at 1:00 Wednesday, 2/12/2020. Interment will be a private ceremony at Camp Butler Cemetery, Springfield, Illinois.
