Marilyn J. Braden's Obituary
Decatur-Marilyn J. Braden, 80, of Decatur, went to be with the Lord at 12:03 a.m. Saturday, August 09, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Marilyn was born March 14, 1934 in Decatur, the daughter of Charles Moore and Evelyn Talbert. She married Charles E. “Chuck” Braden February 12, 1953.
She leaves behind her sons Charles “Greg” Braden of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Mark Braden of Sullivan, and Charles “Tom” Meixner of Cerro Gordo, daughter Brenda Sweazy and husband John of Ocala, Florida, sister Jeannie Joynt of Decatur, brother Chris Christensen of California, fourteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, daughter Lucinda “Luci” Meixner, and grandson Charles “Joshua” Meixner.
Graveside services to celebrate Marilyn’s life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in the Veteran’s Section at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.
We all are saddened by her passing but are assured by her belief in Christ that one day we will be reunited with her and all those who went before her. Until then we will hold her close in our hearts. We love you mom, nan, and granny!
