Decatur-Marilyn Green, 83, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away Monday, August 03, 2015 in Illini Heritage Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Champaign, IL.
Services to celebrate Marilyn’s life will be held privately with family, and entombment will follow at the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Decatur.
Marilyn was born August 8, 1931 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Clarence R. and Ruth L. (Buckley) Green. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1949. Marilyn the worked at Black & Co. Hardware Store in Decatur. She attended Patricia Stevens Modeling School in Chicago, and later worked for a law firm in Chicago. Marilyn enjoyed playing bridge and playing bingo. She liked socializing with friends and family. Marilyn was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt. She had a sweet, kind and generous heart.
Marilyn is survived by her brother, Stuart (Jonna) Green of Tuscola, IL; nephews, Steven (fiancée’ Karen) Green of Pell City, AL, Gary (Freida) Green of Memphis, TN, Natha (Angela) Green of Lake in the Hills, IL, and several cousins.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, nephew David Green, and several aunts and uncles.
