Decatur-Marilyn A. Hackney, 50 of Decatur, passed away 8:45 am Monday, February 1, 2010 with her family at her side at Aspen Ridge Care Centre.
Memorial services to celebrate Marilyn’s life will be announced at a later date and cremation rites will be accorded as per her wishes. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting her family with these arrangements. Marilyn was born on September 30, 1959 in Decatur the daughter of Richard and Bernadine Knox) Barter. She attended Eisenhower High School in Decatur. She was employed for the past year by Akorn in Decatur.
Marilyn leaves behind her son Shawn (wife – Elizabeth) Gallagher of Knoxville, TN; her mother Bernadine Barter of Decatur; two brothers Steve (wife – Sandra) Barter of Oreana, and Richard Barter of Los Angeles, CA; her sister Carolyn (husband – Leonard) Weaver of Decatur; her three loving grandchildren Addison, Camden, and Logan; and four nieces.
Marilyn will be reunited in Heaven with her father Richard.
