Marjorie L. Banning's Obituary
Decatur – Marjorie L. Banning, 82, Decatur, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
Marjorie was born in Decatur, IL, on October 18, 1943, the daughter of Keith S. and Doris E. (Felts) Thompson. A member of Elwin United Methodist Church, Marjorie worked at K-Mart for 18 years before retiring. She was very active with the Special Olympics and volunteered at the LSA thrift shop. Marjorie married Robert Banning on August 5, 1967, in Decatur, IL and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother Robert Thompson.
She is survived by her daughter Pamela, sister Karen Meadows, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 10 am until the service time of 11 am at the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Special Olympics of Central Illinois Region I or Elwin United Methodist Church.
