Marjorie K. Ellis' Obituary
Decatur-Marjorie K. Ellis, 78, of Decatur, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Marjorie was born April 20, 1938 in Wayne County, Tennessee, the daughter of Floyd and Reba (Ray) Weaver. She was previously employed with Caterpillar retiring with over twenty-four years of service. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Church Ladies Guild, St. Mary’s Auxiliary, and Bunko League. Marjorie enjoyed puzzles, gardening, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She married Jerry Ellis June 28, 1958. They shared over fifty-seven years together.
Marjorie leaves behind her husband Jerry, sons Roger Ellis and wife Suzanne, Robert Ellis, and John Ellis and wife Laurie, grandchildren Bryce and Carly Ellis, and brother Michael Weaver and wife Mindi.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jim and Donald Weaver, and Peggy Todd.
Services to celebrate Marjorie’s life will be 11:30 AM Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2155 N Oakland Ave, Decatur, Pastors Bill and Brock Abbott officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 AM prior to the services at the church. Memorials in Marjorie honor may be directed to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or to Susan G. Komen at P. O. Box 650309 Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
