Mark A. Jackson's Obituary
Decatur-Mark Anthony Jackson Jr. (Junior, Junior Mac, Lil’ Mark), 12, of Decatur, took the loving hand of Jesus and departed this world on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Being the fighter that he is, giving it all that he had. Let us remember him as the champion that he is and keep in mind that someday we will be together again.
Junior was born September 15, 2001 in Decatur the son of Mark A. Jackson Sr. and Jeannette M. Agnew. He was a student at Baum Elementary School. He enjoyed video games, football, basketball, and spending time with his Dad.
Keeping his memory alive are his parents Mark A. Jackson Sr. and Jeannette M. Agnew, sisters Makyiah Agnew, Markesha Jackson, and MarJanai Jackson, grandmothers Fannie Jackson, and Susan Agnew, uncles Louis Jackson, Ahmad Jackson, and Shaquilla Jackson, aunts Heidi Agnew, Latosha Agnew, Sonnie Wilson-Greene, and Tracy Hicks, special nephew Montez Hentz Jr., members of the Decatur JFL and Sky Ice Elite, and a host of family, friends, classmates, and team members.
Junior is reunited in Heaven with his grandfathers Frank Palmer and Mickey “p-pa” Agnew, uncle Jeff Palmer, aunt Miki Agnew, and nephews Kyair and Kymir Hentz.
He is truly an angel that will be missed but most definitely never forgotten.
Homegoing celebration of Junior’s life in which we will honor the times we spent, share the wonderful memories that we have, and to remember the love that he put in our hearts, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at GT Church, 500 S. 27th St. Decatur. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial with “Flight Home” Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery.
