Marvin Larry Workman's Obituary
Marvin Larry Workman, 89, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 5:52 A.M. on Wednesday (05-22-2024) at Sullivan Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Marvin was born on December 24, 1934, in Decatur, IL, the son of Marvin Homer Workman and Mary Lucille (Duggen) Workman. He married Shirley Arndt on February 27, 1954, in Taylorville, IL. She preceded him in death on January 30, 2012.
Marvin was a member of Saints James and Patrick Parish in Decatur, IL. He also loved playing sports and was a quarterback at Stephen Decatur High School. Marvin was also a mail carrier for the United States Post Office for forty years.
He is survived by his children: Marvin Rick Workman and wife Pam of Decatur, IL; Randy Reed Workman and wife Krystal of Escondido, CA; and Robbin McFadden and husband Scott of Decatur, IL; one sister Betty Dunham of Mt. Zion, IL; five grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley, and one brother John.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday (05-31-2024) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. The burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
