Mary Ann Anderson's Obituary
Decatur – Mary Ann Anderson, 74, of Decatur, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 in her home.
Mary Ann was born January 3, 1940 in Macon, IL, the daughter of John August and Mary Pauline (Durbin) Pryde. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mary Ann began working for the U.S Postal Service here Decatur and then went on to work as Postmaster in Wadsworth, IL, then Highwood, IL, and retired from Russell, IL in 2000. She married Gerald Rees Anderson on March 28, 1956 in Taylorville, IL.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert “Bob” Pryde and sister Phyllis Hedrick.
Surviving is her husband, Gerald of Decatur; daughter, Lu Ann (Jeff) Nihiser of Decatur; sons: Scott Kevin (Crystal) Anderson of Mt. Zion and Thomas Rees Anderson of Decatur; grandchildren: Kelli (Bob) Caplinger, Jade and Trace Anderson; great grandchildren: Kaylin, Beau “BJ”, and Kortney Cunningham; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Visitation was Tuesday evening in the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
