Mary Campbell's Obituary
Mary Campbell 'Aunt Mae Mae' 'Auntie M.', 91, of Decatur passed away at 7:15 am Wednesday August 3, 2011 in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Mary was born on November 12, 1919 in Suqueloc, MS the daughter of Henry and Ettabeana (Ware) Cotton. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Decatur. She spent most of her adult life in Gary, IN where she was an active member of St. James Baptist Church and the community. She was a member of the Pierce Street Neighborhood Watch, Loved flowers, and was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan. She married Isaiah Campbell on October 7, 1952 in E. St. Louis. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Mary leaves to cherish fond memories her sister, Amanda Triplette, brother, Milton Cotton (Ann) and cousin, William Ware all of E. St. Louis, MO; and a host of nieces and nephews including Carla Shannon (Steve), Byron Jackson (Schewonda), Douglas Borders (Joyce) Sue Cobb, and Annie Russell all of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Mamie Bryant.
Homegoing service celebrating the life of Mary will be 12 noon Tuesday August 9, 2011 in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. C.D. Stuart officiating and conclude with the 'Flight Home' Ceremony. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the church. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO at 12:45 pm on Wednesday.
