Decatur-Mary L. Colbert, 60, of Decatur, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Memorial services to celebrate Mary's life will be 4 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 at First Free Will Baptist Church, 2709 N. 27th St., with Pastor Tyler Penn officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Mary was born September 26, 1950 in Joliet, the daughter of Gilbert Schade and Eleanor Schade Mayberry. She was previously employed as a computer programmer at Caterpillar retiring after thirty-two years of service. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed mushroom hunting with her husband. Mary was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, step-mother, step-grandmother, family member, and friend. She married Jerry Colbert November 29, 1985.
She leaves behind Jerry, her beloved husband of over twenty-four years, mother; Eleanor Mayberry of Decatur, step-sons; Kevin of Texas and Gregory of Florida, step-daughter; J'nee Crawley and husband Jeff of Decatur, brother; D. Scott Mayberry and wife Keli of Florida, and six step-grandchildren.
She was reunited in Heaven with her father.
