Mary Elaine "Elaine" Craig's Obituary
Effingham – Mary Elaine “Elaine” Craig, 88, of Sullivan, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Effingham.
Elaine was born March 24, 1930, in Dalton City, IL, the daughter of John W. and Lizzie F. (Burris) Sides. A member of the First Church of God in Lovington, Elaine worked in the Lucy Ellen Candy Factory and then worked into her 80’s as the activity director at Titus Memorial Home, Sullivan. Elaine married Arlie Craig, Jr., June 18, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 2009. Also preceding her in death were her parents, seven brothers, five sisters, grandson Craig, granddaughter Lana and son-in-law Kevin.
Surviving are her daughters: Gloria “Genie” Sporleder of Mason, Donna Lee Tennis of Sullivan and Lori (Jeff Bailey) Kroenlein of Pana; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews’ other relatives and friends.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be 11 am, Thursday, October 18, 2018, at First Church pf God, Lovington; visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will take place in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials may be to First Church of God, Lovington.
