Mary Elaine "Elaine" Hathaway's Obituary
Mt. Zion-Mary Eleine “Elaine” Hathaway, 79, of Mt. Zion, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Elaine was born November 10, 1937 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Relis and Ruby (Pinkney) Oldfield. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Lady Elks, Roosevelt Girls, and several women’s golf leagues. Elaine enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending all of their activities. She married Richard Dwight Hathaway February 26, 1966 in Springfield, Illinois.
Elaine is survived by her husband Dwight of Mt. Zion, daughters Debra (Michael) Runyan of Knoxville, Tennessee, Karen Flaugher (Dennis Hodge) of Mt. Zion, and Lesley (Micky) Loehr of Decatur, sisters Ann (Richard) Brown of Moweaqua and Marie (Robert) Boedecker of Decatur, grandchildren Stephanie Tapscott, Dawn Shade, Michael Runyan, Lindsay Stovall, Derek Flaugher, Karmen Loehr, Kooper Loehr, Terry Johnson II, and Randall Johnson, and several great-grandchildren.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, son Richard “Rick” Hathaway Jr., and daughter Cheryl Johnson.
Services to celebrate Elaine’s life will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Monday, June 19, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation.
