Mary M. Fetrow's Obituary
Decatur-Mary M. Scott Fetrow (Me-Me), 83, of Lafayette, IN, formerly of Decatur, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2011 in her residence with family by her side.
Services to celebrate Mary's life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Pieta Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or MDA.
Mary was born July 28, 1928 in Hoopeston, IL to Cora Mae Scott. She was raised by her mother and step-father Harry C. Bessler, Sr. She was employed by Decatur Public Library where she drove a bookmobile for 16 ½ years. She was a member of the Decatur Women's Council, Tops, Tune Twisters, and Rockin' Grandmas. She volunteered as long as her health allowed, including driving for Baby Love for 9 years. Mary enjoyed reading and especially spending time with family. She married Billie L Fetrow, Sr. July 31, 1948 in Lafayette, IN to whom she was married to for 60 years until his passing in 2008.
Surviving is her son Billie L Fetrow, Jr. of Decatur, daughter Darla K Morgan of W. Lafayette, grandchildren Larry Morgan, Jr. (wife: Michele), Sandy Rosas (husband: Gabriel), and Dawn Wall, all of Lafayette, IN and Heather Fetrow of Decatur, IL, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and very special family friends, Larry Morgan, Sr., Kathy Patterson, Jack Cutler, and especially Ginny Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Billie L Fetrow, Sr., mother Cora Bessler, brother Jack Scott, a niece, and several aunts and uncles.
