Mary Lou Garcia, 73, of Decatur passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 in Champaign Urbana Nursing & Rehab in Savoy.
Mary Lou was born on April 15, 1944 in Chicago the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Krol) Bryak. She was a member of Womens League at the Salvation Army, volunteer for D.O.V. E. R.S.V.P., Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She knew no stranger and will be deeply missed. She was always a Chicagoan at heart.
Surviving are her son, Marc Garcia (Yoni) of Chicago; daughter, Paula Abdullah (Derichey) of Decatur; sister, Chris Bryak of Decatur; grandchildren, Shalynn Davis, Malik Abdullah, Dominique Abdullah, Miranda Abdullah, and Mariah Abdullah; special-sister, Sharon Matli of Decatur; and niece Paulette Szymanski of Decatur; God-child, Mary Ann Jackson of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by parents and sister Bernadette Radowski.
Funeral service to celebrate Mary Lou’s life will 11 AM Saturday, July 15, 2017 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Bishop James Wills. Visitation will be10-11 AM Saturday in the funeral home.
