Mary Jane Griffin's Obituary
Mary Jane Griffin, 84, of Decatur, died Monday, January 15, 2018 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be held 2:30 PM Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
Memorials: First Free Will Baptist Church Youth Group.
Mary Jane was born July 14, 1933 in Marion, IN, the daughter of Harry J. and Alice W. (Emmons) McDonald. She was a veteran of the US Navy.
Mary Jane had served as a waitress for many years with Bishop’s Café. She was a former member of Parents Without Partners and was a loving mother. During her leisure she enjoyed knitting and sewing.
Surviving are her daughters, Ruth I. Downey (Frank) of Macks Creek, MO, Michelle Baker (Larry) of Decatur, IL, Kay Frances Hamre (Michael) of LaGrange, GA, Nora Jane Griffin-Berthiaume (Gene) of Plainfield, IN; sisters, Catherine and Kay Frances McDonald of Long Beach, CA; grandchildren, Catherine DeCicco (Brad) of Decatur, IL, Larry Joseph Baker of Decatur, IL, Patricia Spradley (Timothy) and Ruth Anne Hamre of LaGrange, GA.
Preceding in death are her parents, one son, Clinton Charles Griffin, two brothers and one great grandson, Bradley DeCicco.
