Mary Lou Hayes' Obituary
Decatur-Mary Lou Hayes, 68, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011 in her home with her family by her side.
She was born on July 20th, 1943 in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of Russell and Madolin Foster. She married the love of her life Larry D. Hayes on October 16th, 1960 and brought into this world, four wonderful children. She lived a very full and wonderful life as a full time homemaker and mother to her four children.
She spent her life of 68 years married for fifty one wonderful years and spent it doing what she wanted with her husband and children. She was always there for her children and to give a helping hand when and wherever needed. She took care of her children with all the love that a mother could give.
Surviving are her husband Larry, sons; Scott (Diana) Hayes of Decatur, Ray (Penny) Hayes of Mt. Zion, and Bobby (Misty) Hayes of Hammond, daughter; Penny Barringer (Matt Detmers) of Decatur, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Myles Foster, sister, Norma Jean Davidson and several aunts and uncles.
Services to celebrate Mary Lou’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home; visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. till the time of the service. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
God must have needed another 'angel' because that is what he has taken from his loved ones. She will be missed and loved forever but never forgotten. We all love you and we all will meet again someday. We love you! The family would like to give special thanks to Angie and Gail of DMH Hospice for all the kindness they showed to Mary Lou and the family in their time of need.
