Mary Jo McPeek's Obituary
Mary Jo McPeek, 90, of Decatur, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016, at Heartland Manor Care in Decatur, surrounded by her family.
Mary Jo was born September 14, 1926, in Bloomington, to Thomas M. and Mary Ann (Crilly) Brady. She married Paul A. McPeek on July 7, 1951 in Bloomington. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Decatur. She was also a former election judge.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Paul; four daughters, Teresa Ann (Glenn) Harrison of Sedona, AZ, Kathleen Marie (Tom) Fraher of Odell, IL, Paula Jo (Bill) Hiller of East Otis, MA, Jamie Elizabeth McPeek-Johnson of Odell, IL; ten grandchildren, Adam Skelskie, Katie Fraher, Casey Fraher, Kellie Schultz, Nicholas Hiller, Jesse Hiller, Alexandria Hiller, Kristin Johnson, Matthew Johnson and Ashley Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Cooper, Samantha, Joshua and one on the way in December.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and four sisters.
Visitation to celebrate the life of Mary Jo McPeek will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Decatur, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon with Rev. Richard Weltin, celebrant. Private family burial will be at a later date in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
