Mary Kennedy's Obituary
Mary M. Kennedy passed away Thursday February 9, 2012 in Auburn, IL.
Mary was born in Decatur, IL June 26, 1916; she was the daughter of Judge and Katherine Parker. She attended St. Teresa Academy and graduated from St. Teresa High School. She had three brothers, Paul J. Parker, William B. Parker, and John R. Parker and a sister Geraldine Parker who preceded her in death as well as her parents.
She married Nicholas Kennedy and they had two daughters, Phyllis Kennedy and Marilyn Kennedy Anthony (Paul Anthony). Mary was an active member of Holy Family Church in Decatur. She was a member of the Kiwanians and American Business Women's Assn. before moving from Decatur in later years to live with her daughters in Las Vegas, NV; Natchez, MS; and Springfield, IL.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Kennedy, Marilyn Anthony (Paul); grandsons, Nicholas Yelverton (Kristi) Patrick Anthony (Rosi); Max Anthony (Trish Wier); granddaughters, Erin Harrington and step grandson, Mark Anthony. She has one great-grandson, Brody Yelverton as well as two great-granddaughters, Nici Anthony and Madison Harrington. Her husband Nick Kennedy preceded her in death.
Funeral Liturgy celebrating Mary's life will be 11 AM Tuesday, February 14, 2012 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10 -11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery and conclude with the 'Flight Home' ceremony. Memorials are suggested to St. Teresa High School.
