Mary Belle Kondritz's Obituary
Decatur-Mary Belle Kondritz, 86, of Woodstock, IL, formerly of Decatur, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Valley Hi Nursing Home in Woodstock, Illinois.
A Service to celebrate the life of Mary Belle will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with a visitation 10:00 a.m. to the time of the service. Interment with “Flight Home” ceremony will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Mary was born August 18, 1924 in Decatur, Illinois, daughter of Fern (Goodwin) Crosby. She was a former Illinois Bell telephone operator during WWII. She worked as a medical assistant for local doctors, then as a pharmacy technician. She was a life member of the Oak Grove P.T.A. and a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. She married to Leo Kondritz; September 12, 1942 he preceded her in death August 1, 1997.
Surviving; Darrell Kondritz of Decatur, Illinois and Daniel Kondritz and his wife Rosemary of Johnsburg, Illinois, granddaughters Scarlett Cook of Sharon WI, Ashley Sierra of Chicago and Elizabeth Kondritz of Johnsburg, IL, great grandson Eli Cook, Sharon, WI., nephews Jim Vaughn and wife Gloria of Decatur, IL, David Kondritz also of Decatur, Dick Kondritz, Fred Kondritz, and Jean Oldfield, niece Dixie Andrew, sister in-law Loretta Burns of Mt. Zion, IL, sister in-law Freda Funk of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo, mother and step-father Martin, sister Margaret Vaughn, an infant son Roger and brother Robert D. Burns.
