Mary Irene Losier's Obituary
Decatur-Mary Irene Losier, 89 of Decatur, passed away 4:04 pm Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services to celebrate Irene's life will be 10:00 am Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Clif Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 6 ' 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Committal services concluding with the 'Flight Home' ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Association. Online memories and condolences may be shared with Irene's family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Irene was born September 10, 1921 in Edgewood, IL the daughter of James and May (Bedford) McFarland. She married Melvin C. Losier on October 7, 1967 in Cleveland, Ohio. Irene was employed for several years as a cashier for Youngs Eisner. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Decatur. Irene enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, and she loved cooking.
Irene leaves to cherish her memories her husband of close to 43 years Melvin Losier of Decatur, her sons Michael (wife – Peggy) Dunn of Michigan, and Robert Dunn of Ohio and her daughter Margaret (husband ' Steve) Stolle of Decatur; her step-son Richard Losier of Decatur, and her step-daughters Mickie Crowe of Decatur, Julia Losier of Decatur, and Debra Moore of Decatur; and a close sister-in-law June McFarland of Decatur. Irene will be sadly missed by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Irene was greeted in heaven by her children John Dunn, Marilyn Dunn, and Cheryl Knight; grandchildren Becky and Ryan; three sisters and four brothers.
