Mary S. Mickler's Obituary
Mary S. Mickler, 97, of Decatur, Illinois, went to her eternal rest on Thursday, December 3rd, 2020 at Imboden Creek Living Center. She was born January 5, 1923 in Vincennes, Indiana the daughter of Ray C. and Sara (Marone) Sparenberg. After graduating from high school and business college she worked as Chief Accountant at Rural Electric Membership Corp in Vincennes. She married Jack Mickler of Lawrenceville, Illinois on May 30, 1942.
After moving to Decatur in 1967 Mary worked at Tabor Securities, Ellis Farm Management and First of America Bank in the AG department. She retired in 1992. Mary was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
She is survived by a daughter Pamela S. Nell of Owensboro, Ky and son John (Rita) Mickler of Decatur, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Betty and brother Ray Jr.
Private family graveside services are pending. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or Macon Resources Inc., Decatur.
The Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mary.
