Mary M. Stevens' Obituary
Decatur-Mary M. Stevens, 75, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in McKinley Court.
Mary was born June 11, 1937, in Metropolis, Illinois the daughter of James and Roberta (Pergande) Parish. She was previously employed with the Macon County Sheriff's Department where she served as a dispatcher and juvenile matron. She enjoyed shopping and fine cuisine. She married Melvin E. Stevens April 17, 1975 in Decatur. He preceded her in death May 14, 2009.
She leaves behind her sons Jim (Mary Ann) Pollard of Decatur, Michael Bush of Tampa, Florida, and Scott Bush of Ludwigschafe, Germany, daughters Holly (Scott) Stewart of Decatur and Deonna (Mike) Bowman of Assumption, stepson Gary Stevens of Norfolk, Virginia, stepdaughter Carol Lentz of Decatur, brother Bob (Jody) Parish of Findlay, sister Pat Golladay of Charleston, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Franklin Bush, and brother Jim Parish.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at McKinley Court for all of their loving care.
Services to celebrate Mary's life will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Veteran's Section at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the New Life Pregnancy Center.
