Always enjoyed visiting with John and Mary Alice especially when they lived across Union Street from our family in Decatur. Mom, Louise, was especially close to them both on Union Street and when they moved closer to St. Thomas on Edward.Nancy first full time teaching position was at the old Durfee school in Decatur and she has commented through the years how friendly and welcoming her was to her.We are at St. Thomas for Mass around the Christmas Holidays and one of the ladies present kind of updated us on Mary Alice..not well but I think she said that at that time Mary Alice still had her smile and sense of humor.Our best to the family,Fred and Nancy L.
