Mary Alice Rice's Obituary
Decatur-Mary Alice Rice, 80, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Monticello and Decatur, joined her heavenly Father and husband Sunday, July 20, 2014 in Ocala.
She was born August 23, 1933 in Monticello, Illinois, the daughter of Horace Leon and Laura Bell (Milligan) Jay. She was a retired seamstress from the Horse Bridle Company. She married James Arthur Rice of Lincoln, Illinois, December 31, 1965. They moved to Ocala in 1985. He preceded her in death May 26, 2009.
She leaves behind her daughters Kathy (Roger) Robinette and Charlotte Brown, son Dennis Brown, sister Betty Raglan, brother Donald Jay, special friends and neighbors Judy and Roger Hindle, her beloved pets Rascal and Patty, and several loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, four brothers, stepdaughter, stepsister-in-law, and two stepbrothers-in-law.
Services to celebrate Mary’s life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be Graceland Cemetery.
