Decatur-Mary G. Watrous, 84, of Decatur, passed away 3:05 am Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Fair Havens Christian Home.
Private family memorial services will be held at Moundford Free Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Smith officiating. Memorial services to celebrate Mary’s life will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation from 9 – 11 am. Mary was born on August 21, 1924 in Tuscola, IL, the daughter of Jasper and Charlotte (Long) Donnals. She married Richard G. Watrous on March 1, 1941 in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1999. She was a longtime member of the Moundford Free Methodist Church. Mary was a very talented seamstress and also enjoyed crafts of all sorts. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mary leaves behind five sons; Bob (Cledia) Watrous of Tower Hill, IL; Rick (Gisela) Watrous of Alamo, TX; David (Jane) Watrous of Fishers, IN; Jack (Kathy) Watrous of Mt. Auburn, IL; Chuck (Kim) Watrous of Mt. Zion, IL; two daughters; Patty Beck of Columbia, SC, and Charlotte (Joe) Kovacs of Mt. Zion, IL; two brothers; Oliver Mardis of CA, and Jack Donnals, Jr. of Tuscola, IL; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-six great- grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Ralph, one grandson, and three sisters.
