Mary A. Wells' Obituary
Decatur-Mary A. Wells, 74, of Decatur, passed away at 6:00 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2010 in the Emergency Room at Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Macon County Animal Shelter. Mary was born April 1, 1935 in Decatur the daughter of Charles R. and L. Ruth (Cross) Frazier. She worked at Montgomery Wards and Haines & Essicks for years. She loved bowling and enjoyed being on may different bowling teams. She was also a great lover of animals and had many stories of all the dogs and cats she lived with. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always smiling and laughing with her family and friends. She married Gene R. Wells in 1976.
She leaves behind her husband Gene of Decatur, sons; Charles H. Ratcliff of Decatur, Craig A Ratcliff and wife Eleonora of Chevy Chase, Maryland, and Ernest M. Ratcliff of Decatur, daughters; Jenny Vasser of Whale Pass, Alaska and step- daughter Laurie M. Wells of Decatur, sister; Janet Furnish and husband Fred of Decatur, sister-in-laws; Dorothy Bodine and Ruth H. Frazier both of Decatur, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one step- son, Gene R. Wells, Jr., and brother; Leland E. Frazier.
