Mary Ann White's Obituary
The soul of Mary Ann White quietly passed into eternity Monday, March 9, 2009, after a long illness while surrounded by her family.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Born January 19, 1922, daughter of Mabel and Elmer Spangler of Oreana, IL, she is survived by her husband Charles W. “Bill” White, whom she married April 11, 1943, her daughter Elizabeth Ann Fishman, grandchildren Jamie Rose and Jeffrey Joseph, “JJ” Fishman; sisters, Jean Goretzke of Warrensburg, IL, Vera “Bea” Lewis of Ore City, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann graduated from Stephen Decatur High School and continued her education at Millikin University where she earned her teaching certification.
Mary Ann was a life long member of Central Christian Church, a long time former member of the Country Club of Decatur, and member of the Decatur Club.
She will be missed every day by her family and many dear friends.
