To the Maryalice Nelson family: I am so sorry for your loss of your Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Your loved one was my neighbor for the past 30 years, and we had countless wonderful conversations over the years, she would stop by while walking her dog Abe and chat about her children, their careers, and of course, Politics. During Halloween, when my children were small, she would deliver a baggie packed with full- size candy bars to all the neighborhood children, which was a great delight. To Mary's family – I miss Mary's intelligent and liberal (might I say enlightened?) chats as she walked Abe….who in our neighborhood could forget Abe's Obama placard? She was someone to talk politics, bread baking and vegetable growing with. She must have had a fascinating life and I'll bet it was fun growing up with such an artistic and well traveled mom !
