Maurice L. Sefton's Obituary
Decatur – Maurice L. Sefton, 83, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at St. Clair Hospital, Fenton, MO.
Maurice was born September 20, 1935, in Brownstown, IL, the son of George and Hazel Sefton. A member of First Christian Church, he worked for Mueller Company for 44 years and then drove for Baldwin Shuttle for 10 years. He was a fan of the Fighting Illini, St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, NASCAR and liked fishing and bowling. He married Susan Stratman on April 18, 1959. Maurice was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Surviving is his wife Sue of Decatur; children: Brenda (Mike) Fleckenstein of Decatur, Lisa (Glen) Fialka of Fenton, MO, and Brian (Becky) Sefton of Ballwin, MO; grandchildren: Kevin, Kelly, Kara and Brandon; sisters: Georgianna Ragsdale and Faye Schwarm; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home; visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
