Melanie Ann Bowers' Obituary
Decatur-Melanie Ann Bowers, 69, of Decatur, entered her eternal life with her Lord and Savior at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in Decatur Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Services to celebrate Melanie’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in Pilgrim Lutheran Church, coducted by Pastors Brock and Bill Abbott. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday evening in the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Melanie was born on August 8, 1940, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Judge Spotts and Virginia (Huffmaster) Wildasin. She married Richard B. “Barry” Bowers and he passed away on December 27, 2000. Melanie was a Registered Nurse and a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. She was co-owner of Dynagraphics/Fast Impressions with her sons, a company she and her husband founded. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. Melanie was a Christian, devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother whose greatest joy was being with her family.
Surviving are her sons: R. Scott and David Bowers, daughter-in-laws: Diane M. and Kimberly L. Bowers all of Decatur, and grandchildren: Olivia Bowers, Noah Bowers, Blake Bowers, and Nicholas Bowers.
She was greeted in Heaven by her parents, her husband, and one brother: Dennis M. Spotts.
